About Mentors

Can you think of a person you rely on to overcome challenges? Maybe they're in your classroom, sports and clubs team, or part time job.

Mentors at LADY are your "Life Mentors". They listen to you from your perspective and support each high school participant's individual growth. Mentors are the people who truly impact high school participants!

In LADY, women are role models for women, because we believe that opportunities to discuss gender issues with other women will empower high school girls to take leadership as adults in the future.

Past LADY Mentors

“Before I participated in LADY, I thought I clearly knew the difference between “working adult” and “student”, but I realized that every person is on an extended line. Just as the speakers we admire were once students such as ourselves today, I believe that we can give hope to students in the future.”

Rika Hayashida
Nagoya University

“LADY was a great three-day program in which I learned from the students’ passionate discussions and the fantastic guest speakers on women’s leadership and witnessed the growth of students through their ‘families’.”

Midori Kutsuwada
St. Luke’s International University

"High school and university students and guest speakers—although diverse in age, experiences, and backgrounds—encouraging each other with pride in and consciousness of themselves as women, was a sight that was beautiful and gave me hope."
